Betty VEGA

Betty Vega is a vocalist originally from Los Angeles, California. Throughout her school years, from elementary school in California's Central Valley through high school in Mesa, Arizona, Betty performed with a variety of school bands and choirs, developing a lifelong love for music.

While attending Phoenix College in Phoenix, Arizona, she pursued studies in Early Childhood Education and continued her musical involvement through the college’s choral ensembles. After returning to Fresno and enrolling at Fresno City College, Betty discovered a passion for helping others along their musical journey.

At Fresno City College, she has studied under several exceptional musicians through voice masterclasses, applied voice lessons, Music Theory and Ear Training courses, piano studies, and a variety of other music classes. She has also been an active performer with both the college’s large choral ensemble and City Singers, FCC’s premier vocal ensemble.

Betty is currently working toward a transfer degree in Vocal Performance while tutoring on campus and building her teaching studio of aspiring vocalists and beginning pianists. She enjoys creating a positive, encouraging learning environment where students can develop confidence, musical skills, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

Music has always felt incredibly important; it serves as a soundtrack to our lives, and much like any art it can help us better understand and engage with the world around us. I'm very fortunate to have had a robust musical education through gradeschool band and choir ensembles, and now at Fresno City College as I pursue a degree in Vocal Performance. My goal as a teacher is to create a judgement free enviornment where we can explore and experiment, to foster a love of music that feels intrinsic and establish a reliable foundation of technique and knowledge.
