Monica is a distinguished instructor of piano and Chinese zither (guzheng) with more than two decades of dedicated teaching experience. She recieved the foundation of her musical training in Taiwan, where she pursued intesive study in performance, musicianship, ad pedagogy. For the past 18 years, she has continued her work in the United States, bringing a depth of cross-cultural musical understanding to her students.
Her teaching emphasizes the development of a strong technical foundation, refined tone production, interpretive sensitivity, and comprehensive theoretical understanding. She is committed to cultivating disciplined musicianship while encouraging each student to develop an individual artistic voice.
Monica's students benefit from her structured, methodical approach, which integrates technique, theory, and expressive performance practice. Many have grown under her guidance to become confident performers with a deep appreciation for the classical repertoire. Her studio is anchored by a commitment to excellence, thoughtful pedagogy, and a belief in music as a profound means of personal and artistic expression.
I enjoy incorporating a wide range of musical styles into my lessons, including both classical and contemporary repertoire. This variety keeps learning engaging, enjoyable, and meaningful. I strive to create a supportive and inspiring enviornment, tailoring each lesson to the unique goals, interests, and learning style of every student.
My commitment to excellence in teaching is matched by my desire to help each student express themselves through music in their own individual way. As students build their skills and confidence, they also grow as performers and musicians.
