AN AFTERNOON OF ORIGINAL MUSIC, STORYTELLING & WORDPLAY

Join us for a special afternoon celebrating the artistry of Edward C. González. Following a distinguished career in education and administration, González has continued his creative worke as an author and composer. The afternoon will feature a program of his original piano works, followed by a presentation and signing of his illustrated book, M.T. Cabeza and the Hidden Treasures of Waldopry.

The artistry of edward gonzÁlez

Dr. Ed González began his educational career as a teacher in Madera Unified in 1982 and spent 15 years in the classroom before entering administration. As a teacher, choir director, and athletic coach, he was the recipient of numerous professional accolades, including two MUSD Teacher of the Year nominations and five nominations from his former students for the Who's Who Among America's Teachers awards.
Dr. González served in school administration for 20 years, including eight years as a superintendent in two districts—American Union and Madera Unified. In his retirement, he has been published in an academic research book about charter schools, authored two books, and composed music in several genres, including classical piano, choral, jazz, Latin, traditional pop standards, music for strings, religious, and New Age.
Dr. González enjoys spending time with his wife and family and remains active in the community on behalf of several music and enviornmental organizations. He recently attended a performace of the elite Crystal Children's Choir at UC Santa Cruz singing one of his choral songs, "I Don't Want to Have To Go to the Zoo," an anthem for the preservation of endangered species. Dr, González lives in Fresno with his wife and muse, Barbara.
