Robin Gorostiza is a Fresno-born and raised musician who has been playing instruments since he was very young and credits his love for music to video games he played as a child. He was always fascinated with how it worked. He played piano mainly before deciding to take voice lessons at 14, which made him decide to go into music as a career. He would later study at Fresno City College, where he studied and has degrees in both piano and voice. At college, he studied piano with Dr. Brandon Bascom and voice and choral education with Katie Lablue and Dr. Heder, respectively. His current main line of work is teaching privately, which he has been doing for 3 years now. He believes that everyone can learn music and made it his goal to educate as many people as he can on the artform that drives him.
NOTE FROM YOUR TEACHER
To me, music is an art form and a craft at the same time. It's something that is very beautiful to observe, but if you give it some of your time, you will notice it becoming something very rewarding. It's my job as a teacher to spread and educate music, but I'm not doing it for money; I’m doing it because music is something that should be spread and admired, and no background should stop you. Let me hold your hand as we explore the world of music, and let me show you that no matter the experience, age, or natural talent someone might have.
We can turn any craft into art.
