Tristan Mejia began in string studies and later delving into piano as well since 2016. He currently holds an Associate's Degree in Music from Fresno City College, having studied in strings under Professor John Morrice, and under Doctor Brandon Bascom in piano. Tristan is currently striving to obtain a BM in Music Education at Fresno State. He has participated in many local extracurricular ensembles, including college level orchestras and chamber groups, and has played for several high schools throughout the valley. Tristan holds teaching experience ranging from all ages, including and not limited to college level and middle school level musicians. He also holds college level experience in music theory and ear training.
When not practicing, Tristan enjoys surrounding himself with music at almost all times, taking hours of his days to expand his musical horizons, listening to countless symphonies in full, while perhaps seated with a good novel. The love Tristan holds for the orchestra in all its many forms truly shines through in many aspects of his life, and is happy to share that enthusiasm with anyone.
A Note from Tristan
Ever since I was in elementary school, I knew I wanted to be an educator, and make a mark on students' lives for the better. I have always loved music for all of my life, even now I can remember myself at 7 years old, playing for hours at my tiny toy piano. It wasn't until middle school where I finally decided to put all of my energy into becoming a music educator. I am beyond grateful for the opportunities that have been afforded to me, and have led me in life to teach at a wonderful Steinway school. Nothing quite fulfills me as much as seeing each student I work with make steady, passionate progress in their craft, and I couldn't be happier to be part of their journey.
I am truly humbled to be at your service!
