JAN MCMAHON

I am a Fresno-born and raised musician  Began lessons and studying piano at the age of 4 and have studied with Olga Quercia for many years. During my time at California State University of Fresno, I also studied with Philip Lorenz and Dr. Bob Bennett. I studied vocal under Sam Barkman and Mercedes Edwards. I taught music as any other subject at a private school for over 15 years and was responsible for two performances a year using the entire school populous. I have been a church pianist, organist, adult and children’s choir director, soloist and ensemble vocalist for my entire life and still actively involved in church music. I have taught piano for 40 plus years. I have also been a vocal coach for 25 years.

 

A Note From Your Teacher

My desire in teaching piano is to develop the love of the instrument to the next generations. To see the eyes of the students light up as they explore all music. To continue the love of the music that was created by the great masters. To provide the foundation in each student to participate in and share their interest, and to all and to help encourage future teachers.
